Sunday, May 16th @ the Poets' Asylum

[image: Gordo Elliott]This week the Poets' Asylum
<http://poetsasylum.org/>welcomes
*Gordo Elliott* as our feature. Gordo has become a regular of the Asylum
over the past year. He was born in Illinois, spent most of his life north of
Seattle, has lived in Utah & New Mexico and now calls central Massachusetts
home. Gordo started writing poetry while in Santa Fe, NM where he
self-published a chapbook. His poems have appeared in several anthologies
including one of Ghost Ranch writers. Most of his poetry is based on the
things he has experienced over the years and miles.

Please join us at Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester).
The sign-up list goes out by 6:00 p.m. and the reading starts by 6:30 p.m.
No cover however please put some money in the bucket; it is how we pay our
features.

20th Anniversary Celebration - May 30th

[image: 20th Anniversary logo] Twenty years ago the first National Poetry
Slam fielded just 2 teams and the world wide web was just a glimmer of an
idea. Oh yeah, and some central Massachusetts fans of performance poetry
started to meet in Worcester and founded the Poets' Asylum. While we've been
packing 2010 with local features to celebrate the diverse voices that the
Poets' Asylum has produced we decided to set aside one night of the reading,
May 30th, to give as many people as possible a chance to take to the mic.

Whether you once considered yourself a regular at the Poets' Asylum or if
you read only once and remember the cheer when you were asked if it was your
first time we invite you to come back. If, like your webmaster, listening is
your thing we hope you'll join us as well. If you are visiting from out of
state or coming a long distance to take part please let us know in advance
so we can save a spot for you. Drop an e-mail to webmaster @ poetsasylum .
org <webmaster at poetsasylum.org> and let us know your plans.

We have more in store so check back as we near May 30th for more
information. We hope to see you then!

May 9th Revisited

Bob Gill was our feature this week and since he happens to be your friendly
webmaster he's going to forgo a recap of his own feature. If someone who was
there would like to recap the feature and have it presented on
poetsasylum.org I'd be rather pleased, yes I would.
