Coming up on Sunday, October 4th

[image: Bobby Gibbs] This Sunday, October 4th, the Poets'
Asylum<http://poetsasylum.org/>welcomes Worcester regular
*Bobby Gibbs* as our feature. Gibbs is the host of the After Nine Poetry
Series <http://after9poetry.wordpress.com/> at the Hotel Vernon and a past
member of several slam teams, most recently the 2008 Worcester team. He was
the Poets' Asylum representative to the Individual World Poetry Slam
championships in 2006. He has been writing all his life and performing his
work since 2003. Gibbs has a unique voice and in his own words he "speaks
for and from the gutter people, the street people".

This, his first feature at his home venue, is not to be missed. Join us at
Jumpin' Juice & Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The sign-up list goes
out around 6:00 p.m. and the reading usually starts by 6:30. No cover;
please put some money in the bucket to pay the feature.

September 27th Revisited

Thanks to everyone who came to the weekly Poets' Asylum reading this past
Sunday. It was a busy night with a busy open mic, a feature by *J.W. Baz*and a
*One Minute Slam*. There were a lot of new faces in the crowd and new voices
in the open mic; we hope you'll join us again. Baz gave us a good feature
with dark side. Finally the One Minute Slam continued to amaze with four
competitors offering amazing works that had the audience leaning forward to
catch. At the end of the three round slam *Megan* took the win. Props to
Bobby, Melinda & Alexa for their strong work.
