No Poetry Haiku

These are used from time to time in The Week in Poetry calendar when there is a day without any local area poetic events. Most of them are just plain silly, though they occassionally have some redeeming value (at least to the author).

Number 1 from 04/19/2001

No poetic stuff
was found to list here for you
enjoy the night off

Words fail to express
the sorrow I must report
poetry not found.

Number 3 from 05/17/2001

there is no poetry every
other Thursday.

Number 4 from 05/31/2001

Late spring rain brings growth
to the eager land as we
weep at words not said.

Number 5 from 06/21/2001

With luck this will be
the last time I have to fill
space with a haiku.

Number 6 from 07/13/2001

Nothing is certain in this life
some venues suck
we move on.

Number 7 from 08/16/2001

As with the change of seasons
poetry will once more return.
We wait.

Sorry no poetry tonight
but that's OK
Buffy is back.

Number 9 from 10/19/2001

Number 10 from 02/15/2002

If life had fewer stumbling blocks
there would be less need for poetry.
